Artist and designer, Sharon Pierce McCullough recently entered into two new licensing agreements with Unicef
and Antioch Publishing.
McCullough designed six new Christmas images which were licensed to Unicef for cards. Unicef plans to market these as a
boxed set and they will be available the 2002 season. The colorful, whimsical images, typical of McCullough’s recognizable
style, a reindeer, snowman, Santa, penguin, polar bear, and teddy bear, are also available for other licensed products.
Antioch Publishing has licensed a number of Sharon Pierce McCullough’s images to be used on journals and bookmarks for their 2003 line.
Although this will be McCullough’s first entry into these two categories, McCullough’s artwork is currently licensed primarily in the
publishing field and for home décor.
Most successful, to date, are McCullough’s designs “Buddies” and “Tropical Fish” licensed to Regal Rugs/Springs Industries for bath décor,
including rugs, shower curtains and bath accessories.
These two lines are also currently under license to Springs Canada. “Sharon’s whimsical interpretation of trends and her bold use of color appeal
to both children and adults,” says Kristin Fitch, Coyote Red Licensing, McCullough’s agent, “her style is what appears to be driving these two lines.”
Regarding publishing, McCullough has 10 images licensed by The New York Graphic Society’s ArtBeats division, of which her “Househopping” print continues to be the best seller.
Also in the publishing arena, her “Bunbun” book series, published by Barefoot Books, in both hardcover and boards book continues to do well.
